Indian Plastic Institute, Chandigarh Chapter organized an event "PLASTIQUE" under the aegis of its Student Chapter at Dr. S.S. Bhatnagar University Institute of Chemical Engineering and Technology, Panjab University on September 17, 2017. The theme "Plastics in everyday life" was chosen with a basic agenda of imparting knowledge through oral presentations on the uses of plastic and how it can be recycled in best possible ways. IPI is a professional organization with its chapters all around the country and headquarters at Mumbai. IPI Chandigarh has been promoting the cause of plastic industry in this region for the last two decades through education and training programs related to plastic and allied industries. Colleges and students showed extraordinary enthusiasm and as many as 15 teams participated in the event. Prof. Paramjit Singh (Ex-registrar Panjab University), Mr. Ashok Gupta (IPI Chairman), Dr. Y. K. Anand (academic consultant) addressed the students and enlightened them with the importance of the plastics and the right way for their use and disposal so as to reduce the unwanted hazards. Students came up with wonderful presentations & ideas. 1st prize was bagged by Priyambika. The second position was grabbed by a team of two - Guneet Kaur & Jashandeep Kaur & 3rd position was secured by Indu Saini.
